Both the Cownter and Cowrate services are free to use. The widgets are also free. The Webservices API will be free for the first 1000 hits per month. This ensures that small websites can continue using the webservices for free, while larger websites will have to pay for the load that they generate. We will be publishing the payment structure and allow signups through the My Account page.

The "-" inside the bubble indicates that Cownter service is not familiar with that page. Either this page does not include the Cownter javascript, or no one has entered it since the javascript was included. If the page belongs to your site and includes the cownter javascript, you can initialize it to "0" yourself by entering and exiting the page.

Simplerank is simply ThumbsUp-ThumbsDown. We track the amount of visitors, recency and many other metrics that can be baked into the Cowrate rankings. We will notify our users by email as soon as we release those algorithms.

Neither Cownter nor Cowrate keeps track of individual users on the site. The web page URLs and the counts associated with them are tracked for statistics only.

Yes. You can use both apps at the same time. In fact, this page uses both. Do not forget to define all the varables and include both of the javascripts at the bottom of your HTML.

After several months of work we are finally launching the Cowrate App. This app enables simple thumbs up/down rating of any page. It also comes with the nifty categorization feature that websites can use to rank related pages.

Now those of you who are too lazy to use our Webservices API can simply plop a widget on your page and show visitors your stats. The widget takes on the form and style of the containing block of html and you can further customize the widgets with your own stylesheet.

The Cownt.us webservice api is now in Beta. It allows website owners to look at statistics about their site. This api will grow as we offer more features and launch new applications. If you already have a token, you are ready to give it a try.
